About Us Welcome to The Toddler Patch, as featured on NBC30 News.  My name is Sarah Rice and I am the owner of The Toddler Patch home daycare. I am happily married to my husband Jay and we have three beautiful children; Victoria, Matthew and Cameron. I have resided in West Hartford, CT since I was a small child and I attended Webster Hill Elementary School, Sedgwick Middle School and Conard High School where I graduated in 1991.

My dream of motherhood came true when I gave birth to my first child in 1994.  Becoming a mother has been one of my greatest accomplishments and proudest moments.  I have always enjoyed being surrounded by children and prior to opening my home daycare I was a school bus driver for the West Hartford Public Schools for fifteen years.  I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to open my own child care business where I can spend quality time with my own children while at the same time providing other families with tender loving child care.

I have over a decade of experience with Juvenile Diabetes. My son Matthew was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was two years old. He has always had excellent control of his blood sugar levels and is now working hard to become self-sufficient in managing his Diabetes. I am happy to provide care for other children who have Diabetes. Parents will have peace of mind knowing their child is being cared for by a qualified trustworthy mother who understands the commitment and dedication it takes to keep a child with Diabetes safe and healthy.  I am very fortunate to have established a thriving home daycare business where I truly look forward to welcoming each child that enrolls into my daycare as part of my family.
